I was reminded recently (thank you Facebook memories) that 1 week before my wedding our venue told us the construction at the venue hadn't been completed which made us think our day was going to be horrible and we'd have to change everything, but 8 years later I only remembered because of a Facebook status and not the effect on our day.</p> <p dir="ltr"><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong>8. Prioritize Self-Care</strong></span></p> <p dir="ltr">Amid the excitement and stress of wedding planning, try and make some time for self-care, both alone and with your partner. Taking time for yourself, whether through exercise, meditation, or simply relaxation, can help you stay balanced and sane throughout the process.</p> <p dir="ltr"><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong>9. Trust Your Instincts</strong></span></p> <p dir="ltr">While it's helpful to gather opinions from friends and family, ultimately, it's essential to trust your instincts and make decisions that resonate with you and your partner. My wedding morning mantra went a bit like this "he will be the same person tomorrow that he was yesterday, so there's no need to be nervous today". Remember, no matter how the day goes it won't affect your marriage and that is what's important. </p> <p dir="ltr"><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong>11. Communication with Your Partner</strong></span></p> <p dir="ltr">Open and honest communication with your partner is a cornerstone of successful wedding planning. Discuss your visions, concerns, and priorities, and make sure you're on the same page throughout the process. I was often reminded that it was a wedding on Halloween, and not a Halloween party...oops!</p> <p dir="ltr"><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong>12. Unplugged Ceremonies are an Option</strong></span></p> <p dir="ltr">In the age of smartphones, it's perfectly acceptable to have an "unplugged" ceremony, where you kindly request guests to put away their devices and be fully present in the moment.
