The aim of the shoot what did you want to achieve - At Lizzy Gator we have been putting together some amazing ideas & styled shoots to really show couples their own potential for their day!  Elizabeth and Jen have taken it upon themselves to host events like this where the community comes together and we make a fun time AND inspire real couples to get creative!  Our hopes was to promote this wedding style to couples that understand the creativity that can be unleashed on our wedding days and events and we knew Pretty & Punk Weddings was the best place!

Why you chose the location/venue -  Lizzy Gator is a ONE OF A KIND gem in North Texas USA, and a great location for an authentic American elopement.  Their entire property is hand-crafted from the ground up including their venue space, Bed & Breakfast and their cute Twisted Chapel that looks like something out of the cat in the hat or a Tim Burton movie!  You will find Lizzy and Chris always working on projects for commissions but also starting to host events & weddings all year long.  Lizzy and Jen put together a list of people eager to participate with the lead characters and we all co-designed the tablescapes and some of the styling of each model.  You can see by the gallery it is a totally unique space and we have fun!

Reasoning behind the theme/colour scheme - We took this idea from one of our communities and ran with the idea of Alice in Wonderland.  This concept can be taken MANY different ways and interpretations!  Matter of fact, we thought it would be another "twist" to have the Red Queen be the officiant for the ceremony.  What a crazy idea right?  The steampunk infusion from Lizzy & Chris is because their entire space has sprinkles of this genre in their everyday life.  The color scheme was not only inspired from the storybook and movie, BUT because it was a springtime setting we kept it fun & airy and light!  (as Alice -the story- can get pretty dark)  We chose to focus on the "Tea Party" setup because it is the most fun and eclectic to decorate!

What worked really well -

Like any event, I believe what worked really really well was everyone pitching in and bringing their own flair, which all weddings should be like!  We realized after 2020, so many wedding professionals hadn't had a chance to be creative, much less work their jobs like they loved.  Every pro involved put their hands into design, setup, ideas and assistance.

What are you most pleased with from the outcome of the styled shoot/real wedding - I am most pleased at the genuine smiles on everyone's faces.  If this was a real wedding, I would hope the same.  When we all come together to celebrate LOVE and creativity - I honestly think that is a great way to live life and grow with your relationships.  Community is everything and we all need to support each other!  (no matter where we are)

Any funny moments during the day we could include into the blog - I really loved the ideas our bartender had with her drinks!  In order to photograph one of them we had to "smoke" the top of the glass and it was a blast trying to get that image!  Another fun moment for me as the co-designer, was setting up all of the tablescapes.  It was so great to pull from our team and make it happen!  Also, the "twins" Tweedle Dee and Dum made up their own funny walk to come down the aisle.  I had never seen them have SO much fun!!!!  Oh one more thing!!!!  When styling the Bride & Groom - i had to remind them how to "kiss" on their wedding day since they were both wearing hats! I coached the groom through how to do it - it was hilarious!  (yes, they are a real couple)

Thank you to this team for this incredibly fun wedding inspiration that is making Daniella's theme wedding heart burst! If you're looking to have a destination wedding in Texas, then these are some suppliers to check out!
