The magnificent Grade 1 listed Crowcombe Court, nestled in the foothills of the Quantock Hills, is the premiere wedding venue in Somerset. Both the Great Hall and the Ballroom of Crowcombe Court are licensed for Civil Ceremonies, however for those wishing for a Church wedding the delightful Church of the Holy Ghost is ideally situated at the bottom of the drive. The croquet lawn and Great Hall is an ideal location for a drinks reception, before heading into the exceptional Ballroom for the Wedding Breakfast. The catering at Crowcombe Court has gained an enviable reputation, with the focus being on locally sourced, top quality produce used to create bespoke menus. Guests can dance the night away in the Vaulted Undercroft, which has an intimate nightclub feel and an outstandingly well stocked bar! You can also get married there too! The food was lovely, I really enjoyed the meal and how staff catered to us. The service was very professional, with helpful and caring staff members which made the day and evening run well. For that, I'd give 5 stars. There were a couple of problems but were resolved in a professional manner. I’d be happy to use this venue again. Michael was extremely helpful in sorting the issues.

For that, I'd give 5 stars. However, it was extremely dirty. Downstairs, there were a couple dead flies on the tables and floors which wasn’t too pleasant to eat around. I also had to wipe a few flies off the bride's dress. Upstairs in my room was something I had not ever expected where I counted over 11 dead flies on the floor, and hundreds of mini flies gathered by the lights. This was the same for my brothers room and even the honeymoon suite for the newly weds, but we managed to kill around 15 of them before the bride and groom got into the room. Even doing that, there were still loads of bugs. As I said, the service and feeling of the environment was amazing, but waking up to a fly in your hair, constant buzzing throughout the night, and seeing bugs all over the ceiling was a deal breaker for me. I’m not usually a complainer but this was something I felt I had to address in a review since it was completely unhygienic. During covid, cleanliness is so important and shows consideration for others, especially for those with health problems, but this was not clean at all. Very disappointing. Additional tip to staff: It would be helpful if you could put milk in the rooms with the teas and coffees - once it’s clean, of course, we don’t want a fly swimming in there. There is a picture I took of the bugs at the lights. This really needs to be looked into and sorted. If it is, I'd love to use this building again for an event.

We stayed at one of the properties here through Air B&B and whilst the area is lovely and the building stunning the quality of the apartment was low. Most of the apartment (radiators/ heaters, chairs, tables etc) were older than I am and had seen better days. The ground floor apartment had some serious issues with rising damp and because of the lead lined windows it was impossible to get a phone or wifi signal in the building.
